Archive Fundraiser

In this season of giving, please lend your support to preserve and share the rich history of our communities. Our goal is $15,000 with the funds used to hire and train local archivists and obtain necessary equipment to protect materials collected.

Preserving the History of Bonne Bay South

The goal of the Bonne Bay Historical Archive is to showcase the rich history and heritage of Bonne Bay, including Trout River.

Our team of local volunteers is committed to preserving our rich history and heritage by collecting and protecting historical records of Bonne Bay and making them available to the public.

Our initial focus will be on Woody Point, Winterhouse Brook, Shoal Brook, Birchy Head, Glenburnie and Trout River, and will expand in the future to include the other communities around Bonne Bay.

Located in the Woody Point Public Library, this collection of historical documents, maps, family memoirs and photographs provides a valuable resource for those interested in the people of Bonne Bay and important events of the past.

Most Materials will be held in digital form, so that research can also be done at a distance via the internet. Some original materials will be available for consultation at the library.
